surrounded by her loved ones. Born on February 14, 1955, Shirley lived a life defined by faith, family, and perseverance. A devoted Catholic, Shirley's quiet strength and giving heart were evident in every part of her life. She built a long and dedicated career in accounting, known for her attention to detail, integrity, and unwavering professionalism. Those who worked with her admired not only her skill but also her kindness and humility.
Shirley was the beloved wife of Carlton Poma, whose partnership was rooted in mutual love, respect, and faith. She was a cherished mother to Vashti, Anjanie, Beena, Lena, Roy, Tricia, and Shaun. Her children remember her as their foundation, a woman of quiet wisdom who led by example and taught them the value of compassion, hard work, and resilience.
She is blessed to have13 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren and many more who brought joy and laughter to her later years. She is remembered with love by extended family Shiva and Indar, whose closeness brought her comfort and strength throughout her life.
Shirley's legacy will live on through the lives she touched, as a mother, wife, sister, friend, and woman of deep faith. Her laughter, warmth, and generosity will never be forgotten.
The viewing will be held at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229 on November 8th, 2025, from 1 0:00AM to 10:50AM. The
funeral services will begin at 11:00AM, followed by a private cremation with the immediate family. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well lived.
