

SKELDING, Sue Bush, 71, of Henrico County, Va., died Sunday, September 2, 2012, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Skelding was born July 30, 1941 in Covington, Va., the daughter of the late Charles Franklin Bush and Alice Potter Bush. She served for many years as secretary in the University of Richmond Football Office under Head Coaches Dal Shealy, Jim Marshall and Jim Reid. She recently retired from the accounting firm of Martin, Dolan & Holton. She served for many years as a volunteer at Henrico Doctors' Hospital and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James Edward Skelding Sr.; her sons, James E. Skelding Jr. and companion, Kelly Tuck, of Henrico, Charles A. Skelding of Virginia Beach; and daughter, Suzanne and husband, Billy Griffin, of Henrico; and grandchildren, Will and Susanna Griffin. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Boone and Silvia Reynolds of Covington, Shirley Scroggins of Madison, Ind.; and brothers, Charles F. Bush Jr. of Southampton, N.J., and James R. Bush of Covington. She is also survived by her aunt, Mrs. George Smith; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Scarlett Bush Cade; and a brother, Jack William Bush. The family will receive friends at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, Va., on Thursday, September 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service Friday, September 7, 2:30 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 11220 Nuckols Rd., Glen Allen, Va.
