

HARRISON, Suzanne Allen Richardson, died on January 1, 2021. Born in Richmond, Virginia on March 11, 1929, she was the daughter of Dr. John Kirk Richardson and Irene Trotter Geisinger Richardson. Suzanne suffered the loss of her mother at an early age and was raised by her beloved stepmother, Loula Clyde Woody Richardson. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended Westhampton College of the University of Richmond.
Suzanne was a resident of the Fan for over 90 years. She was an early member of the Fan District Association. In the 1980s, she worked extensively to designate the Fan Area on the National Registry of Historic Places. She was dedicated to her community, including serving on the Council of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, as well as a member of the museum’s Collectors’ Circle. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Virginia Historical Society, The Woman’s Club, and the Country Club of Virginia. She was an avid bridge and mahjong player for many years.
She is survived by her husband, John Edward Harrison, Jr., and her children and their spouses, Suzanne Buckner Ross and Stephen Thomas Ross, and John Edward Harrison, III and Elizabeth Baxter Harrison. She is survived by two granddaughters and their spouses, Hillary Ross Einwick and Louis Charles Einwick, III, and Stephanie Ross West and Nicholas Beavers West. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Ashby Grace Einwick and Charles Harrison Einwick. Suzanne was predeceased by her brothers Wyndham Macon Richardson and John Kirk Richardson II.
Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for a contribution to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
