
WRIGHT, Thomas Parker, 82, of Lexington, Va., formerly of Richmond, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Wright Sr. and Anna P. Wright; and son, Nicholas J. C. Wright Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elinor D. Wright; daughters, Billie Metzler of Seeheim, Germany and Heidi Wright Sheltman of Buena Vista, Va.; son, Tom D. Wright of Richmond; and grandchildren; brother, Wesley Wright Jr. of Richmond. Tom was a proud graduate of VMI, class of 1954 and remained an active member of the VMI community throughout his life. He was instrumental in developing the VMI COW (College Orientation Workshop.) and was a First Lt. in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, where he met his wife, Elinor. The family would like to thank Kendal at Lexington and Rockbridge Area Hospice for their hard work and dedication. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., with a reception to follow. Interment private in Wright's Burying Ground in Ladysmith, Va.
