Zenaida Mendoza Escobar

Zenaida Mendoza Escobar, age 83, of Glen Allen, Virginia passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. Zenaida was born in the Philippines on March 3, 1938 to the late, Rosendo and Inez Mendoza. She is survived by her loving children, Gerry Escobar (Tom Carter), Geraldine Caramat (Norman), Gilberto Escobar (Mary), Glenda Carroll (Linwood) and Gary Escobar (Glennis); grandchildren, Kristina, Marisa, Bradley, Tara, Sydney, Tayloe, Jake, Ryley, Mia, Tyler and Delaney; one great grandchild, Logan Grace; and siblings, Teresita, Erlinda and Rosendo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Arturo Escobar; and siblings, Maryann and Araceli.

Zenaida was devoted to her family and took great pride in spending time with them and spoiling her grandchildren. She loved to get her hair and nails done and could often be found shopping and going to various restaurants to eat. Her last big outing she was seen laughing and dancing the night away. Above all, she lived her life driven by her faith.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Woody Funeral Home-Parham, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. A Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
