Nécrologie de Zouhair Jamil Aboulhosn
Zouhair “ZA” Aboulhosn, age 70, loving father, brother, and cherished friend passed on Sunday, June 21st, 2020 in Richmond, Virginia. In his final days, he was surrounded by family, just as he was in life. ZA was born March 18, 1950 in Btekhnay, Lebanon and later immigrated to the United States in hopes of better opportunities. Known affectionately as the “Dairy Queen Man” in Southpark Mall; he was an enthusiastic entrepreneur and hard-working businessman his entire life. However, his greatest accomplishments were his children. He dreamt of seeing his daughter, Alya, become a doctor. By God’s grace, he was able to see her receive her white coat. He adored his youngest child, Jamil, and was proud for following his business background and achieving a college degree in accounting and business management. A devoted grandfather, ZA was blessed to see his two eldest daughters, Bridget and Heather, become loving mothers. ZA is survived by his lifelong companion and mother of his two younger children, Fay; his children, Alya, Jamil (fiancé Melissa), Bridget, and Heather; his mother Aida; his siblings, Ziad, Hanan, and Fairouz; his grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces and nephews; and chosen family Eman. ZA was predeceased by his brothers, Bassam, Ghassan, and Mouin; his father, Jamil Senior; and his nephew, Sammer Ballout. More than anything, ZA enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hosting cookouts for friends and family, reading the newspaper, attending local sporting events, and spending summer days at the Colonial Heights Swim & Yacht Club (SYC). ZA will forever be remembered for his generosity and selflessness. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially by the Druze community of which he was a valued member. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:40 am at Woody Funeral Home- Parham, followed by 12:00 pm interment at Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Druze Society.
