Ann liked country music, especially Garth Brooks and Randy Travis. You had better not be hogging the TV when Days of Our Lives, Survivor or American Idol came on. She enjoyed vegetable gardening with her husband, Al, and they had many bountiful gardens over the years. She also enjoyed fishing, but not as much as Al. She would not say that her cooking was the best, but her family would beg to differ. There was never much left after Thanksgiving (especially vegetable casserole), and her vegetable soup was requested often during the many years of gardening.
Ann was a social person and never seemed to meet a stranger. She was also tough and had the grit necessary to overcome life’s many challenges and setbacks. Throughout it all, she retained a positive and optimistic nature, which shined even brighter in her last years.
Ann loved her family more than anything else in life. To her closest family (and some friends), she preferred to be called “Nanny”, which was fitting because she always tried to provide a source of great love and stability.
She is survived by sisters, Jean Powell (Wayne) and Dusty Coker (Jimmy); grandsons, Derek Moore (Amanda) and Dustan Moore (Amber); granddaughter, Kristen Moore; great-granddaughters, Taylor Arnold (Kevin) and Samantha Moore; as well as many extended family members and close friends who were like family.
