Asher was born January 28, 1994 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Asher was the son of Howard and Cheryl Katz of Madison, MS. He attended college at The University of Southern Mississippi where he studied political science and was active member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He enjoyed cooking, snow-skiing, spending time with girlfriend Katie Yoches, their dogs, Lady and Scamp, and bunnies, Oliver and Honey. He passed away in his sleep the morning of April 1, 2017. He is survived by parents Howard T. Katz and W. Cheryl Katz, grandparents Melvin and Estaline Katz, Gail and Ed Wilson, Lena Ainsworth, sisters Jennifer Cook and Lily Katz, and brother Kovi Katz. Funeral services will be held at Beth Israel Congregation in 5315 Old Canton Rd, Jackson, MS 39211 Monday morning, April 3, 2017 at 10:00am. Internment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Eta Phi Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at 118 College Dr #6840, Hattiesburg, MS 39406 or to the Beth Israel Congregation Cemetery fund.
