

Betty Jo Thomas was born on September 29, 1936 in Jackson, MS to Bill and Katherine Simon. She attended Clinton High School where she was elected Homecoming Queen in 1954. On April 25, 1954, she married the love of her life, Elliott Frank Thomas, Sr. They spent 62 happy years together. She worked at The Hub ladies clothing store before working by her husband's side at Frank R. Thomas Company. Her greatest notoriety was making hand made Easter baskets that were sold all across the South. She was a member at St. Francis Catholic Church in Madison, where she and Elliott enjoyed attending daily mass. She was a member of the Cedars Of Lebanon Club of Jackson, MS. One of her greatest pleasures was cooking Lebanese food for her family to enjoy. Nothing made her happier than to have all her children and grandchildren at her home for meals.
She is survived by her loving husband, Elliott Frank Thomas, Sr. Sons, Elliott Frank Thomas Jr and his wife Dawn Traxler Thomas; Daughter, Lynda Thomas Lively and her husband Greg Lively; Frank Rashid Thomas II and his wife Melissa Turbeville Thomas. . Grandchildren Mary Kathryn Allen (Bo) of Jackson; Elizabeth Bowers (Chris) of Shreveport, LA; Elliott Thomas III of Jackson; Mary Beth Lively and Anna Blake Lively of Oxford; Trey Thomas of Madison. Great Grand Children Emme Allen and Leeman Bowers.
All services will be at St. Francis Catholic Church in Madison. Visitation Tuesday 5-7 with Rosary following. Visitation Wednesday 10-11 with a Funeral Mass following. Burial will be at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church or to St. Jude.
