Billie Lee Dye

Billie Lee Gliessner Dye, 87, of Jackson, Mississippi, went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 2, 2021. Billie was born in Louisville, Kentucky on Nov 18, 1933 to Gladys and Carl F. Gliessner. She married Spence M Dye in 1954 and began her family of three children. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends in Jackson for many years. One of her favorite things was planning family beach trips with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which they have done since 1982. Being born in Kentucky, she was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan and loved the Kentucky Derby.

She is survived by her three children James L Dye (Lois) of Birmingham, AL, LeAnn Dye of Fairhope AL, and Robert G Dye (Darnell) of Madison, MS. Grandchildren Pete Kramer (Katie), Caroline Walker (Will), Taylor Dye (Emily), Laura Dye Hogin (Andrew) , James Dye, Gary Dye (Shelby) and Charley Dye; great-grandchildren Harrison Walker, Dawson Kramer, and Lucy Walker, Semmes Walker and Spence Dye, and sister-in-law Judy Gliessner. She was predeceased by her husband Spence M Dye, brothers Gary and Butch Gliessner, and grandson Jake Kramer. The family would like to thank Shirley Lockett, Renee Taylor and Lisha Moore for taking such good care of our Mother.

Memorial in lieu of flowers may be sent to Rapahope Children’s Retreat Foundation, and the Big Oak Boys and Girls Ranches.
