

Ella Blanche Martin Landrum (Blanche), 93, passed away in Cumming, Georgia, on Saturday, May 20th, 2017. Visitation is Thursday from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, Mississippi, with the funeral service to follow at 3:00pm. Mrs. Landrum was born in Gilbert, Louisiana, on February 6, 1924 to Harry and Ruth Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Landrum, and her sister, Patsy Ruth Harris. She is survived by her son John Landrum, and her daughter-in-law, Lee Anne Griffin Landrum, both of Cumming, Georgia. Her four grandchildren are Griffin Landrum, Jack Landrum, Katie Scott Landrum, and Archie Landrum, all of Cumming, Georgia and nephew, Glenn Harris.
Blanche was raised in Gilbert, and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, where she met her husband Tom. Following Shreveport, Blanche and Tom lived in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee; Atlanta, Georgia; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Short Hills, New Jersey during Tom’s career with Westinghouse. In 1979, they moved to Jackson upon Tom’s retirement and lived there until 2009, when they moved to Alpharetta, Georgia to be nearer to their son. During their time in Jackson, Blanche was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and was involved in area women’s groups. Blanche loved to travel and accompanied Tom on many trips in their retirement. She also enjoyed cooking and being with her grandchildren later in her life.
