

He attended school in Acworth, Georgia where he received his formal education. After completing high school, he attended State Technical Institute in Memphis, Tennessee where he received an associate degree in architecture. He continued his love of architecture at Mississippi State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree. Soon after graduating he found a position at Duvall Decker Architects in Jackson, MS, where he was an Associate and Senior Project Manager. He was project architect and project manager for many of the firm’s successful and award-winning projects. He was a member of the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards and American Institute of Architecture, (AIA) National and Past President of the Local Chapter.
In his personal life, Brett enjoyed Saturday walks with his family followed by brunch at local Jackson restaurants. He loved to travel and visit museums in various places. He had a love for planes and bird watching. Animals and small children would always find Brett in a space. Brett will be tremendously missed by his family for his huge heart and infectious smile.
Brett was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Marquita Morgan Cupples, his son, Mason Alexander Cupples, his father, Gilbert Stephen Cupples, his mother, Rebecca Aynn Cupples, his mother-in-law, Linda Morgan, and his aunts, Rebecca Riddle and Kathryn Wall.
