Conner R. Armstrong

Conner Ray Armstrong, age 88, of Madison, MS, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Javeous and Virdee Armstrong of Foxworth, MS; and two brothers, James Burlin Armstrong of Foxworth, MS and Davis Armstrong of Richton, MS. He is survived by his wife, Janet Dyess Armstrong of Madison, MS; two sons, Dr. William Dalton Armstrong (Lisa) of Hattiesburg, MS and Dr. Bradford Allen Armstrong (Monnie) of Stokes, MS; four grandsons, Dr. Tyler Griffin Armstrong (Anna) of Sumrall, MS, Brett Ray Armstrong (Martha Kate) of Vestavia Hills, AL, Dr. William Chadwick Armstrong (Mary Catherine) of Signal Mountain, TN, and Charles Clayborne Dalton Armstrong (Laura) of Edmond, OK; one granddaughter, Claire Armstrong Bird (Matthew) of Hattiesburg, MS; four great grandsons, Elias Chadwick Armstrong and Connor Ragland Armstrong of Signal Mountain, TN, and William Bradford Armstrong and Griffin Patterson Armstrong of Sumrall, MS; two great granddaughters, Anna Catherine Armstrong of Signal Mountain, TN and Emerson Kate Bird of Hattiesburg, MS.

Conner was born in Jefferson Davis County Mississippi on April 20, 1933. He attended Bassfield High School in Bassfield, MS, where he was a member of the inaugural Bassfield High football team. He was an Air Force Veteran and married Myra Janet Dyess in 1956. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 30 years, coached little league baseball, was an active member of First Baptist Church in Madison, MS, and opened his home to numerous local medical students.

A visitation for Conner will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Conner will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Cemetery, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
