Davey Lewis Tucker

Davey was born in Jacksonville,Florida on May 23,1943. He

was raised in Jackson and graduated from Provine High School

in 1961. He earned a BA in Political Science from Mississippi

State University in 1965 and a Juris Doctor from the University

of Mississippi School of Law in 1968.

After Law School, Davey returned to Jackson opening a

private law practice. In 1995, he welcomed his daughter,Tracey,

to join him and they practiced together until 2019 when he

retired. Davey was well liked by his peers in the law community

and known as a fair and courteous attorney. When he was not

in the courtroom, Davey could be found in the clerk’s office

telling a tale or two. He was a member of the Mississippi Bar

Association, American Bar Association and Mississippi Trial

Lawyers Association.

Davey and his brother, James, were members of the LGFB fly

fishing group who took annual excursions all over the United

States. He also enjoyed playing golf, cooking and spending

time with his family. Davey was a faithful member of Christ

United Methodist Church, The New Yorkers Sunday School

Class and the FCS Bible Study group.

In 1964, Davey married the love of his life, Sandra Harris, and

they raised two beautiful daughters. The couple was also

blessed with four grandchildren who they adored and delighted

in. They enjoyed over 57 years of love and happiness.

Davey was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine

Strange, his father, Oren Tucker and his brother, James Tucker.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Sandra, their

daughter Tracey Thrash (Keith), their daughter Ashlea

Brennan(Will) and four grandchildren, Addie and Tucker

Brennan and Caitlin and Meghan Thrash and many other loyal

family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 30,2022 at

Christ United Methodist Church of Jackson, Mississippi with

visitation at 1:00p.m. followed by the memorial service at

2:00p.m. The family requests that all visitors wear masks and

practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ United

Methodist Church or to the charity of your choice.

Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland is in charge of

arrangements.
