Dixie Darline Kyle Shelton

Dixie Darline Kyle Shelton, 92, of Madison, MS passed away October 4, 2022 at St. Dominic Hospital. Services will be held 11:00am Friday, October 7, at Highland Colony Baptist Church preceded by visitation from 10-11:00am. Visitation will also be 5-7pm Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Parkway Funeral Home. Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery. She was a retired nurse from Doster Hospital in Columbus, MS and Central MS Home Hospice. She attended Doster School of Nursing at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a charter member of Highland Colony Baptist Church, Ridgeland, MS of which she was very active. She was a longtime resident of Columbus, MS before moving to Madison. She was born in Starkville, MS.

Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde B. Kyle, Sr. and Maudie Anne Malone Kyle; husband of 65 years, Clyde L. Shelton; stepmother, Nell Kyle; brothers, Wayne and Russel Kyle; brothers in-law, Charles and Bob Shelton, Robert Edd Ashcraft, and Arnold Rushing; sisters-in-law, Tiny Shelton and Anne S. Ashcraft.

Survivors include her daughter, Becky S. Purvis (Lanny) of Madison; son, Terry Shelton (Sherry) of Springhill, LA; sister, Linda Slaughter (Arville) of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Benny (Linda) of Columbus, MS; sister-in-law, Sarah Coehler of Columbus, MS; sister-in-law, Ruth Rushing of Columbus, MS; brother-in-law, Larry Shelton (Bonita) of Altus, OK; sister-in-law Charlotte of Burnet, TX; grandchildren, Christopher Boothe (Mallori), Matthew Boothe (Yancy Beth), Chase Boothe (Emily), Mark Purvis (Hani), Gracanne Story (Curt), Terry Wayne Shelton, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Selby, Shelton, Oliver, Caleb, Hannah, and Lucy Boothe, Reed and Aiden Story, Brook Owen (Gage), Cameron, Asher, and Dixie Grace Shelton; great-great grandson Creed Owen; and many loved nieces and nephews.
