Mrs. Dorothy “Polly” Keeton passed away on July 20, 2021 at her home in Madison, MS. Polly was born on September 26, 1923 to Walter and Minnie Edmundson in Vardaman, MS. She married Roy H. Keeton in 1948. They moved to Jackson in the early 1950s and later moved to Madison in 1982. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, sewing, and traveling. Polly was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David Keeton, grandson Wesley Drake, brother Wesley Edmundson, sisters Louise Carson and Laverne Wooten. She is survived by her daughter Dianne Morris of Baton Rouge, LA, son Danny Keeton and his wife Kathy of Madison, MS, and daughter Paula Drake and her husband Terry of Jackson, MS, grandchildren Amanda Keeton, Brian Morris, and Ashley Peden and her husband Blake, great grandsons Brooks Peden and Andrew Morris, sister Cathrin Lee, brother Freddie Edmundson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 10:00am with funeral services immediately following at 11:00am. The burial will be at New Gauley Cemetery in Calhoun City, MS. Memorial donations may be made in Polly’s name to Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, MS or New Gauley Baptist Church in Calhoun City, MS.
