Elizabeth Robertson Wilson of Madison, MS went home to be with the Lord February 2, 2021 after a long illness. Beth is survived by her husband Fred, daughter Maggie Ethridge (Phil), son John Wilson (Audrey), grandchildren Wilson, Miller, Eliza Grace, and Greta Ethridge, her brother Rob Robertson, all of Madison, MS and her cousin, Suzanne Vrbas of Germantown, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents Cohen and Elizabeth Robertson.
Beth was born in Aberdeen, MS October 4, 1952 and moved to Jackson as a little girl. There she was active at Parkway Baptist Church and graduated from Provine Highschool. She completed her business education degree at Mississippi State College for Women while being a part of the Lockheart and Masker social clubs. After college, she moved back to Jackson where she met Fred. They married May 3, 1975 at Parkway where she served faithfully with Girls in Action, Baptist Young Women, and Women’s Missionary Union. Maggie was born in 1979 and John in 1988. The family joined Broadmoor Baptist Church, where Beth continued to serve. Through the years she was active with the Junior League of Jackson where she participated with Rocking Mamas and Joyful Noise, she taught English as a second language, taught at Covenant Preschool, and was involved supporting her children’s activities at Jackson Academy and her husband’s love of outdoor adventure and travel. She may have shined brightest in her role as “Granna”. Her love for her grandchildren was unmatched and unquestioned as she cared for them and dove into their interests with them. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church Jackson.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Wilson Fund for the Benefit of Mississippi Baptist Children’s Village in care of the Mississippi Baptist Foundation or your favorite charity.
