

Mr. Francis Guy Gill went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2014. He passed away peacefully in his sleep. Mr. Gill was born December 6, 1926 to John and Elta Gill in Johns Mississippi. Mr. Gill served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army from May 1, 1945 until December 8, 1946, during the occupation of Japan, where he was a detention guard overseeing Tokyo Rose. Mr. Gill met and married Charlene Willis in Batesville, Mississippi, while serving with the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol. Upon leaving the Highway patrol in 1975, after 23 years of service, Mr. Gill was employed by the City of Jackson, Mississippi as Director of Telecommunications. After a long and productive career, Mr. Gill retired in the Spring of 1992, to spend time with his wife and family. Francis leaves behind two sons, John Charles and Francis Ken. He also leaves behind his daughter-in-law Shirley Kaye and his beloved granddaughter Holli Anne. Visitation will be Monday, August 18, 2014, from 5p.m. until 7 p.m.. Services will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. with burial following at Parkway Cemetery. There will be visitation before the service on Tuesday, August 19, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
