Frank Alphonso Quiriconi, a respected healthcare executive, community leader, passionate sailor, devoted family man, and lifelong Catholic, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Mary Marie and Alphonso Quiriconi, Frank lived a life defined by service, leadership, and deep devotion to family and friends.
In 1945, Frank moved with his family to the Lake Michigan Beach area and graduated from Coloma High School in 1954. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 1958, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in healthcare administration and financial leadership.
Frank began his professional journey at Pawating Hospital in Niles, Michigan, where he served as Business Office Manager from 1959 to 1969. In 1969, he joined St. Dominic Health Services in Jackson, Mississippi, beginning a remarkable tenure that spanned more than three decades. Throughout his career, he held numerous finance leadership roles at St. Dominic’s, including Director of Finance, Assistant Administrator, Associate Administrator, Senior Vice President, and Corporate Vice President. He retired in December 2003 after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
Widely respected for his expertise in healthcare finance, Frank achieved Fellowship status in both the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives, distinctions recognizing his knowledge, leadership, and lifelong contributions to healthcare. Among his many professional honors, he was named Mississippi Health Care Executive of the Year in 1996. One of his proudest accomplishments was contributing to the development of St. Catherine’s Village, Mississippi’s premier all-inclusive continuing care retirement community located in Madison, Mississippi.
Frank is survived by Barbara (Madison) Quiriconi, his beloved wife of 69 years; his sister Mary Jean Barsuhn (Jim); his children, Margo Quiriconi (Walter Taylor), Shannon Alvis (Jim), Stephanie Scott (Chris), and Steve Quiriconi (Beth Merchent); ten cherished grandchildren — Jessica Ahuja (Mohit), Zachariah Quiriconi (Lindsay), Vincent Ciaramitaro (Claire), Christina McRae (Alexander), Rebekah Quiriconi, Charlie Scott, Melissa Warren (Matt), Isabelle Ciaramitaro (Alex), Elizabeth Scott, and Karamia Quiriconi — as well as ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother George Quiriconi (Barbara), and son, Robert Quiriconi.
In retirement, Frank’s vibrant personality flourished. He found great joy on the water, sailing and boating aboard his yachts, including “Seminar,” “Breezin Up,” “Felicity,” and “Ritz Sea.” He was an avid tennis enthusiast, playing frequently at River Hills Club in Jackson, Mississippi, and at the Longboat Key Club in Longboat Key, Florida. A devoted sports fan and loyal supporter of Ole Miss, Frank and Barbara enjoyed more than 30 cruises together, often sharing those adventures with children and grandchildren. For over 20 years, he treasured time spent in Sarasota and Longboat Key, Florida, and since 2017 he proudly embraced the unofficial role of “mayor” of St. Catherine’s Village, taking special joy in knowing the names and stories of residents and staff alike.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 20, 2026, at St. Catherine’s Village.
