She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ernest Lee Thomas. Probably her favorite job was when she worked with children at Alta Woods daycare. She loved caring for the young ones and watching them grow and learn. Mrs. Thomas had many hobbies – she loved to sew not only clothing, she also made purses, drapes, and decorative items. For the past 50+ years she was a devoted participant at various gyms and fitness centers, including most recently the Flowood YMCA. Another favorite pursuit was reading and she was an avid reader. She also enjoyed bird watching and kept the bird feeders outside her windows well stocked. Geri also enjoyed gardening, she was blessed with a green thumb and had many flowers and plants, as well as a beautiful yard. She loved her family and friends and treated them to great home-cooked meals and delicious desserts.
The family would like to thank the management and staff of Plainview Assisted Living for the wonderful care and concern that they gave to her.
