Helen McGehee Hux

Helen was born in Brookhaven, MS on June 15, 1926 to Gertrude Coker McGehee and Lorenzo McGehee. She attended Hollandale High School.

Helen married Everett Hux on November 19, 1949. Together they had two children, William Hux and Dianne McGehee. Helen worked as an accountant for the Attorney General’s Office, the State Department of Archives and History and the Mississippi Governor’s Office. She enjoyed dancing and any activity at Broadmoor Baptist Church.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Everett Hux, two sisters and one brother.

Helen is survived by her brother, Alvin McGehee; son, William Hux (Sue); daughter, Dianne McGehee; two grandchildren, Scott Hux and Katherine Wallace; two great grandchildren, Penny and Piper Hux; two step granddaughters and four step great grandchildren.

A visitation for Helen will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS that afternoon.
