

Mrs. Pike was proceeded in death by her Father and Mother, Sam and Connie Gonzales, her brother, J.T. Gonzales, sister, Eleanor Vasquez and her son, Edward Pike. She is survived by her husband, Charles Pike, current resident of Clinton, MS and her children, Chuck Pike (Angela) of Florence and Angel Bowman (Doug) of Pocahontas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda Payne (Kenneth) and Charlie Bowman of Pocahontas, Troy and Houston Pike of Florence, Matt, Adam and Kristine Pike of Huntsville and Bonnie Thornton (Hal) and Kelly Spell (Kendall) of Flora and her great-grandchildren, Beckham Payne of Pocahontas, Brody and Bentley Thornton of Flora and Paxton Spell of Flora. Surviving siblings are Sammy Gonzales (Patty) of Houston, David Gonzales (Kim) of Madison, Joe Gonzales (Lucy) of Chattanooga, Mary Sykes (George) of Crystal Springs, and Louise Scott (Donnie) of Charlotte.
Irene enjoyed her work at Eastside Elementary as a cafeteria manager and dietitian and crossing guard for Clinton Police Department until her retirement in 2005 - 2007. She also loved to spend time with her family and was an avid bowler and bingo player. She was a kind spirit who lived by the golden rule, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” (Matthew 7:12).
Visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson Parkway Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 29th from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. and on the following day from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. with graveside services directly following. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers; please send donations to CARA animal rescue in Clinton, MS.
