Jack Reynolds Holiman was born and raised in Jackson, MS. He is the son of Allen and Paige Holiman, grandson of Anthony and Shirley Cascio, brother to Madeline and Frank Allen Holiman and soulmate of Julianna Alves. He graduated from First Presbyterian Day School and Jackson Preparatory School. He was a student at the University of Mississippi, majoring in mechanical engineering and living in Oxford. He had postponed his senior year as he had been chosen for a research internship with the Department of Energy.
He was a member of CME at Ole Miss. He was a member of Engineers Without Borders and had traveled to Ecuador with their team. Even at such a young age, he was an avid traveler and enjoyed trips to Sicily and Alaska and various places across the country. Jack loved nature and the outdoors and was an officer with the newly formed Mississippi Audubon Society. He was a talented artist and especially enjoyed doing detailed drawings of birds. He also was an amazing musician. Music was his “true north”. He played piano from the age of eight and picked up other instruments along the way. He loved creating with his fellow musicians and his band, Subcontra, had produced and released an album of original songs titled Remus. He was funny, stubborn, brilliant, honest and kind... among many other traits. His relationships were his most valuable asset. He helped people find their place and purpose with no judgement. He was an encouraging example to others of the importance of being your authentic self. He loved without holding anything back. His final gift was the gift of life as an organ donor. He will be sorely missed and while our earthly hearts are broken, we find our hope and assurance in God's promises. We know Jack is experiencing a peace and light that we cannot yet fathom. A celebration of life service was held at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, MS, on Monday, September 21st, 2020 at 11:00 am.
