Jackson David “Pete” Holland passed away November 23, 2014 from complications related to pneumonia in Houston, Texas. He was born May 31, 1921 in Morgan City, Mississippi to the late David Childers Holland and Flora Elna White Holland. He graduated from Morgan City High School.
After graduating high school, Pete began a long career in the insurance industry, beginning with the Insurance Rating Bureau of Mississippi. He retired as a field supervisor at St. Paul Fire and Marine in Jackson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jane Stallings Holland; sons David Preston Holland and Peter Clay Holland; Clay’s wife Shannon Silman Holland; grandchildren Jackson David Holland II, Emma Campbell Holland, and Andrew Silman Holland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS, Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Presbyterian Church, 1201 Silber Road, Houston, Texas 77024 or to the charity of your choice.
