James W. Rule

James Wesley Rule, 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 01, 2017. Mr. Rule was the son of the late Wesley Marvin and Carrie Ramage Rule of Hesterville, MS. He was a graduate of Kosciusko High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He met and married the love of his life, Dorothy Courtney Rule, in 1955. They shared 62 years of marriage before she preceded him in death less than one month ago.

Mr. Rule worked for BellSouth for 36 years before his retirement in 1991. He served his Lord faithfully through his love for his family and friends and through his service to the churches of which he was a member over his lifetime. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Madison.

Mr. Rule is survived by two sons, Harold Rule (Lettye Ann) and Doug Rule (Olive); four grandchildren, Caroline Wilson (Mark), Anna Grace Vinson (Brady), Wesley Rule, and Olivia Rule; and four great-granddaughters.

Visitation will be held in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Madison, on Friday March 3 from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. with the service following at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Missions Offering through First Baptist Church, 2100 Main St., Madison, MS 39110.
