

Jean Evans Hoffman, 88, died suddenly February 10, 2011 in her home at The Waterford on Highland Colony. A celebration of her life and service of resurrection will be held at 10 AM Monday, February 14th in the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, with visitation an hour before the service. Interment will follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Hoffman was a native of Canton and a member of the Canton High School class of 1940. She attended the University of Mississippi and was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Jean married Harry O. Hoffman Jr., and previously lived in Hazlehurst for 34 years where her husband was an attorney. After Harry’s death, Jean moved to Madison where she resided for the past 22 years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson where she previously sang in the Sanctuary Choir, served on the Administrative Board and performed volunteer work in the church office. She was a volunteer for many years at Mississippi Methodist Rehabilitation Center and the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Museum in Jackson, and formerly a member of Pierian Club and the Mecca and High Noon Luncheon Clubs.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, it was Jean’s request that memorials be made to Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund, 6000 Old Canton Road, Jackson, MS 39211. Online guestbook www.wrightferguson.com
