Jon Wimbish, 78, of Brandon passed away September 22, 2018. Mr. Wimbish was born in Inverness, FL then moved to Venice, FL where he graduated from Venice High School as a scholarship recipient in both football and baseball. He went on to receive a degree from the University of Alabama. Mr. Wimbish continued to be a proud and active member of the University of Alabama A Club as a player on the 1961-1963 baseball team.
Mr. Wimbish loved his family and was a faithful member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Pam Wimbish and his brother, Bill Wimbish. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Chris and Holly Wimbish of Canton, GA, Allison and Pax Glenn of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Olivia and Arden Wimbish, Paxson, Wesley and Isabelle Glenn, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday October 6 at 2:00 PM at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Brandon, MS with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
