

Mr. Lyle was born in Newton, MS where he attended and graduated high school. He continued his education at the University of Mississippi where he received a Pharmacology degree. While at Ole Miss, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a veteran in the US Army and served 3 years in the Korean War. After practicing as a pharmacist for a number of years, he partnered with Edwin Williams opening Lyle Williams Pharmacy in Jackson and later in Ridgeland. The pharmacy operated for 30 years until they both retired from the retail drug business. Mr. Lyle was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church of Madison where he taught youth and adult Sunday School.
Mr. Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, Sam R. Lyle and Tressie White Lyle, brothers, Captain Charles L. Lyle, killed in WWII and Bernard W. Lyle, as well as his son, David L. Lyle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary Edith (Dottie) Davis Lyle. He is also survived by his son, Kenneth Lyle (Kathy) of Memphis, TN; daughter, Janet Shaw (Lee) of Crowley, TX; daughter-in-law, Kim Lyle of Madison, MS; as well as 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on June 6, 2024 from 1-2PM at Parkway Funeral Home 1161 Highland Colony Parkway Ridgeland, MS. 39157, with a Memorial Service following at 2:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church of Madison.
