Judith Stewart Lyle

Judy was born in Forest City Arkansas in 1946. After graduation from Forest City High School she attended Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus MS, where she earned a degree in Library Science. She began her professional life in local schools in Macon, MS, where she resided for several years making lifelong friends.

Judy later built a successful career in sales of exclusive merchandise to gift shops in several states. In this part of her life she made many friends which continue to this day.

Judy was an outgoing and fun personality and a good friend to many people. She loved dining out and social gatherings and travel. At one time before she became ill she even tried golf. Her greatest joy was in time with her children and grandchildren and at home with Ray. She will be sorely missed and leaves a large empty space filled with many wonderful memories.

Judy was predeceased by her parents , Neuman and Opal Stewart, in Forest City, AR.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ray Lyle of Ridgeland, MS, her sister, Rita Mills [Bob] of San Destin, Fl., and her special cousin , Logan Calvert [Jackie] of Madisonville, KY.

She is survived by her children, Ashley Littman [Mike] of Ashburn, VA, Susan Smith [Deron] of Madison, MS, and Elizabeth Fowler [Jason] of Jackson, MS. She also was close to her children by marriage to Ray including Missy Arnett , Russ [Jill] and Steve [Sara], all of Starkville, MS, and Jennifer Varner [Brad] of Madison, MS.

Judy was devoted to her grandchildren, who brought her great joy. They include, in order of age: Morgan Lyle Mapp, Camille Arnett, Lauren Lyle, Hayden Varner, Maddie Littman, Josh Arnett, Erin Lyle, Sam Lyle, Jack Littman, Allie Varner, Ben Lyle, Zach Smith, Darby Smith, Elin Fowler, Lucas Fowler, and Olivia Mapp.

The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to the staff at St Catherine’s Village Sienna nursing service and administration. Also to doctor Gene Loper and Gentiva Hospice Services for their excellent and loving care.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held in the near future..
