Kathy Azlin Lampton completed her earthly race on Friday, September 7, 2012 and is now with our Lord in heaven. She was born to Jim and Myrleen Azlin of Leland, MS on February 21, 1958 and moved to Jackson, MS after marrying her husband, Bill Lampton.
Kathy’s greatest joy was being a loving wife and full-time mother to her three children. She dearly loved her parents, sister, and daughter in law, extended family, friends, and her children’s friends. Kathy and Bill’s home has been a gathering place and the center of activity of all ages where many young ones began to acknowledge her as their second mom. She welcomed each visitor with open arms and made everyone feel special. Kathy will be remembered for her smile and laughter, her thoughtfulness, generosity, gracious delta drawl, and mint tea. Kathy’s legacy of love will be felt deep and wide for generations to come.
Her mother, Myrleen Azlin, preceded her in death. Kathy leaves her husband of twenty-nine years, Bill Lampton of Jackson, MS, their sons Will Lampton and his wife, Janna of Nashville, TN, Walt Lampton of Birmingham, AL, and daughter, Katie Lampton of Jackson, MS; her father Jim Azlin of Leland, MS, sister, Kris Azlin of Memphis, TN; in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie B. Lampton Sr. of Jackson, MS, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie B. Lampton, III of Ridgeland, MS, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lampton of Flowood, MS, Mr. Robert Lampton of Jackson, MS and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express deep and sincere gratitude for the care and attention Kathy received from Dr. David Fleming, Dr. Tammy Young, and Trish Poythress, RN.
