Kenneth Lake “Ken” Kestenbaum, 70, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on January 17, 2025, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born on May 28, 1954, to the late Louis Irving Kestenbaum and Edith Todd Ward of Vicksburg, MS.
Ken is survived by his ex wife Marti Kestenbaum and children, Katherine Kay Kestenbaum and Troy Todd Kestenbaum (Laura) and his grandsons Myrick Todd Kestenbaum and Rayford Lake Kestenbaum, both of whom were adoringly named in his honor.
He is also survived by his brother, Irving Todd “Pete” Kestenbaum (Angela); Niece Camryn Kestenbaum; Sisters Karen McMahon (Tom) and Kate Isler (Doug); Step brothers Guy Ward (Melissa), Gary Ward (Beth), Al Ward, Jr. (Mary) and Johnny Ward; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ken is fondly remembered as a local football legend for catching the winning touchdown in the Capital Bowl in 1972 to secure the victory for St. Joe against the mighty Murrah in the last play of the game.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg.
