

Kenneth J. Wing, 58, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010, at the Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson due to complications from cancer. He was born in Marks, MS, on October 21, 1951, to Charles and Virginia Wing.
He was preceded in death by both parents; his brother, Tommie; and his sister, Anne Wing Kinder.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen Hurt Wing; his daughter, Caitlin; and son Corey, all from Madison, MS. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Wing of New York City; his brother, Charles Wing of Portland, OR; his sister, and brother-in-law, Douglas and Sandra Wing deVidal of Austin, TX, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
At the time of his death, Kenny was employed as a Sales Vice President for Highland Capital Brokerage, supporting independent as well as institutional financial advisors in the high-end planning and life insurance arena. Through his work, Kenny was able to help countless families and individuals over the years to ensure that their legacy continued through their children and grandchildren by providing financial stability and structure for their dependents. Kenny left a lasting impression on the clients that he worked with and unequivocally helped carry and continually raise the reputation of not only himself, but also his company during his career.
Prior to joining Highland in 2003, Kenny served as Vice President-Wealth Management Services at Merrill Lynch in Jackson, Ms. He began his financial services career as a producer and District Manager with AXA-Equitable in 1992.
As a 1974 graduate of Mississippi State University with a major in Accounting, Kenny also worked for 3 years with the Special Audit Division of the Mississippi State Tax Commission and for 15 years as the Controller and Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
His outstanding work career was only surpassed by his roles as loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. His involvement in his children's activities reaffirmed his love and provides for them and Karen many cherished memories. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison.
All services will be held at the Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS. Visitations will be held on Friday, September 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, September
18 at 2:00. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at 3:00, with interment to immediately follow.
