Margaret Sheffield

Margaret Ann Weems Sheffield, age 81, of Ridgeland Mississippi, formerly of Raymond Mississippi, peacefully went to be with our Lord on February 16, 2018, at her home. Margaret Ann was born November 12, 1936 in Bobo Mississippi to the late Ernest and Lois Weems. She attended Belzoni and Inverness high schools, where she enjoyed playing basketball. She was a graduate of the Gilfoy School of Nursing at Baptist Hospital in Jackson Mississippi. Margaret Ann married Charles Sheffield, “Charlie” on March 28, 1958 and was a devoted wife for almost 60 years. Together they had two children.

Margaret worked as a Registered Nurse for 41 years at Children’s Medical Group. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Raymond and enjoyed singing in the choir as well as singing in a group called The Ragger-Roos Comedy Washtub Band. For more than 20 years they performed in nursing homes, Senior Living Centers and for church groups. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for others. She also enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and won “Yard of the Month” several times. In her retirement years, she and Charlie enjoyed traveling with family and friends.

Margaret is survived by her husband Charles Sheffield, daughter Cindy Massey(Bill) of El Paso, TX, daughter Kay Bicker(Ken) of Brandon MS, three granddaughters; Brooke, Brittany, Ashley, one great grandson; Dylan, one sister Evelyn Hitt (Burnell), and one brother Jimmy Weems(Alice).

Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home Thursday, February 22, 2018 5:00- 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Raymond, MS Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation prior to service at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Blair Batson Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
