Mrs. Beasley was a native of Porterville and a longtime resident of
Jackson before moving to Madison in 1999. She was a former resident of
Sunnybrook Estates and most recently a resident of Edgewood Nursing Home.
She was a member of First Baptist Madison and was previously a
longtime member of Van Winkle Baptist Church, Jackson. Mrs. Beasley enjoyed
doing for others and provided childcare for many of her 10 grandchildren and for
numerous others. She was co-owner of Mary-Margaret Catering (Wedding)
Services with her dear friend, Margaret Vickers, for 30+ years. She was also a
vendor with the Canton Flea Market for 30+ years with October 2000 being the
last show in which she participated. She took great pride in the many weddings
she helped assist with and in the many craft items she made over the years. She
also enjoyed her daylilly and iris gardens and would count them daily when in
bloom.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 67 years,
William R. (Billy) Beasley; parents Pete & Dovie Coker; an aunt, Stella Powell;
and 3 great-grandchildren (Pruett & Payton Bowen and Caroline Bryant).
Mrs. Beasley is survived by her son Larry (Janet) Beasley of Pearl;
daughters Brenda Cook of Byram; Melissa (Jeff) Lewis of Madison; and
Renee (Bruce) Brumfield of Madison; 10 grandchildren (Amy Bryant, Taylor &
Jason Beasley; Ashley Clark, Maren Bowen, Adam Cook, Brooke LeBlanc,
Braxton & Brayden Brumfield, & Jacob Lewis); and 17 great-grandchildren. She
is also survived by one sister, Jane Palmer and numerous nieces and nephews.
