Mary, 

You and I worked together for over 15 years and during that time I have been impressed by your ability to be a quality scientist,a caring teacher, and a loving wife. Michael impressed me as an intelligent and very caring young man. In no way did he deserved the terrible illness that dominated his later life. 

You two were a perfect couple and I know how hard it will be for you to carry on without him. As you know, Michael has been in my thoughts and now my thoughts will focus on you in this time of sadness.

I worked with Mike in Canton. He was such a nice man, a hard worker, and quite a prankster with a great sense of humor.  He will be missed. My condolences to his wife and family.

Michael and I went to college together, and my memories of him are joyful. He had such a gentle presence—kind, quiet, and thoughtful with his words. I will always cherish our special friendship within our unique group of oddballs at CMSU in Warrensburg, Missouri. Those days of crazy parties, float trips, hacky sack, road trips, concerts and countless camping trips will always hold a special place in my heart.
