Patsy Di Muzio was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on May 23, 1947, after her father Leslie Lampton Wilkinson returned from Italy when World War II ended. She passed away March 22, 2021, in Ridgeland, MS, where she was living in her retirement. She was also the daughter of Bess Dowd Wilkinson. Patsy was the middle child of three girls, a sister June Wilkinson Evans, four years older, and a sister Leslie Wilkinson Sherrill, four years younger. Patsy attended Boyd Elementary, Bailey Junior High, and graduated from Murrah High School in 1965. She received the B.A. degree from Newcomb College of Tulane University in 1969 and the MBA from Southern Methodist University in 1972. Patsy worked at the Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C., as a financial analyst and ended her government career at the Farm Credit Administration. Patsy was the widow of Anthony “Tony” Di Muzio, whom she dearly loved. She is survived by her two sisters, June Evans (S.R.) of Greenwood, and Leslie Sherrill (Tom) of Coppell, TX; two nephews, Taylor Sherrill of Coppell and S. R. Evans III (Amy) of Morganton, NC, and three nieces, Claire Evans Martin (Brian) of Nashville, TN, Caroline Evans de Gantes (Florent) of Paris, France, and Christine Sherrill of Dallas, TX as well as some very special cousins.
Patsy was one of the first campers to attend Camp Seale-Harris in Alabama for diabetic children; she also enjoyed going to TCDC – Tennessee Camp for Diabetic Children in Soddy-Daisy, TN. But golf was a passion, and she played with Tony and with the ladies at her club as often as possible. The golf clubs were always in the car. She served on the board of the Maryland Ladies Golf Association for many years, four years as chairman. The other passion was her love for her cats through the years.
The family requests gifts to a favorite charity in lieu of flowers. A time for visiting with family and friends will take place Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10 to 11 AM at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
