It was a great honor to be ask to speak at Tim's Memorial service.  He was an awesome Music Man and friend.   I was blessed to be a member of The Imperial Showband in the 60's.  Paul and Miriam were like 2nd parents to us...there was always room for us when needed.  Those days for Buzz Arledge and me as singers and the friendships with Carson and other members fill a big part of our music memories.  The Lord has a wonderful musician in Heaven.

Jamie and Paul Timothy III - It's always sad to lose someone. I am very sad to hear that your father, my dear friend,  Tim Whitsett has passed away.   Both he and his brother Carson were legends. They gave so much to the music. They will always be remembered when you hear their songs, so let the music play.

As an only child, having Tim in my life was the brother I didn't have. I loved rolling down the hill in Jackson in an old tire with him and the others, and our competitions to see who would wake up first on Xmas Day. His music was ahead of his time and I loved it, as I loved him.  Jane in Australia, with love to all the family.

 


 

My heart is very heavy with the news of Mr Whitsett passing.
Him and my Father were colleagues and friends.
He was very instrumental in helping me when I lost my Dad. He showed concern for me when I took ill. He was and awesome person with a wonderful heart. He will be dearly missed.

So sorry to hear about Tim. I just have all those memories of the band practices that my brother Buddy Myers  was in when he played with Tim, Carson, Jimmy Hodo, and many others. Tim was one very talented musician. Rest In Peace Tim

Lucy, Kit, and Cynthia, I am so sorry about Tim's passing. I thought Tim and Carson were the coolest siblings. I remember their band rehearsaI one night in the entry hall. I also remember Lucy's fabulous purple carpet, Cynthia's ballet, and Kit's shenanigans that she pulled me into. I have fond memories at your house.  Peace to all.

Sincere sympathies for all of Tim’s Family and all his Loved ones . My memories of him is through his music as; he was a friend of my eldest brother , who was a fellow Jackson musician  in the early days .  Tim and his early band , Tim Whitsett  and The Imperials , provided the great music for my Senior Prom at the La Font in Pascagoula, MS in 1965 as; my Family had moved to Ocean Springs from Jackson. We had the occasion to chat during the band’s “break” at the prom; he being happy to hear that I was  originally from Jackson and Alton’s ( Lott) sister. In much later years ; while Iiving in Jackson, he was gracious to become my Facebook friend and; we  shared comments regarding the early days . May Tim Rest In Peace and in the glory and love of God for eternity. He will be missed and remembered. Janet Lott McLeran-Porter
