Peggy O'Neall Putman, of Presbyterian faith, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013. She was 90.
Mrs. Putman was born on April 26, 1923, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Read and Elma O'Neall. She graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and attended Centenary College in Shreveport, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
In 1947 she married John Henry Putman of Hope, Arkansas. They had two daughters, Eileen and Patricia. The family moved to Jackson in May 1957.
Mrs. Putman was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John, to whom she was married for 57 years. She is survived by daughter Eileen and her husband, Alan Fram, grandson Andy Fram, granddaughter Abby Fram, all of Arlington, Virginia; daughter Patricia and her husband, Alan H. Walters, grandson John Alan Walters, all of Jackson; granddaughter Katy Walters Brink and her husband Daniel Brink, great-granddaughter Annabelle Brink, and great-grandson Harry Brink, all of Madrid, Spain. Mrs. Putman felt so blessed to have lived long enough to share the joy of their lives.
The family would like to express its gratitude to physicians Paul Van Landingham, Billy Long, George Patton, pharmacist Lester Hailey, hairdresser Sandra King, caregivers Bernice Tillman and Doris Jones, and the staff of the Siena Center at St. Catherine's Village in Madison.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the home of Tricia and Alan Walters in Jackson. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at 8:30 a.m. at Parkway Memorial Cemetery, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway in Madison.
