Pennie Sue (Waldrup) Raposa passed away unexpectedly on November 30th, 2022 in Madison, MS. Pennie was born at a military base in Prestwick, Scotland on July 9th, 1957, but grew up in Swannanoa, NC. Most of her career was spent in banking, and she was currently employed as a Customer Service Representative at Statewide Federal Credit Union in Flowood, MS. She was married to her husband George Raposa for more than 47 years. Pennie was truly devoted to her family. She loved visiting casinos and playing the slot machines (to which she had an uncanny winning percentage), and like her husband and family was an avid New York Giants football fan.
Pennie moved a number of times while following her husband’s career, and at various times, lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Louisiana, New Mexico and Virginia. Prior to her final relocation to Mississippi to be near her grandchildren, Pennie lived in Keene, New Hampshire for approximately fourteen years.
Pennie is survived by her husband, George, of Madison, MS, daughter, Melissa Ann (Raposa) Hager and Son-in-Law Craig A. Hager of Gluckstadt, MS, grandchildren Reid G. Hager and Olivia C. Hager; daughter Amanda Lee Raposa and her fiancée Mohammed (Mo) Omar of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister Catherine J. Sanborn (husband Philip); sister Robin K. Camillo (husband Jack); sister Traci L. Smith (husband Dennis); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Pennie Raposa is currently being planned and will be held at a venue in southeastern Connecticut in the spring of 2023.
