
Robert G. (Bobby) Horton, 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 11, 2013 in Jackson as a result of complications from surgery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland and Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Madison. The "Celebration of Bobby Horton's Life" will be at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Madison followed by the interment at the Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland.
Mr. Horton was born in Jackson on July 2, 1951 to Clark and Delores (Horton) Glazier. He attended Hinds Junior College, followed by a professional career as a "Right-Of-Way agent. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He married the "love of his life" Dianne Ross Horton with whom he shared 35 years of marriage and one son, Blake Horton (Katie). He was a member of First Baptist Church Madison and faithfully served in the Jimmy Blisett Sunday School Class. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and listening to gospel music. He especially loved hunting and fishing with his son, Blake, when Blake and his wife would come for a visit. Bobby had a zest for life, enjoying every minute of every day to the fullest.
Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his father, Clark Horton. In addition to his wife, son and mother, he is survived by his sister Jan Gabriel (James) and other close family members.
