

A native of Odessa, Texas, Bob attended The University of Arizona and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. As a player on the wildcat football team, Bob at one time, held the record for the longest punt return for a touchdown. After graduation, Bob served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He was past president of the New York NOMADs and a lifelong Shriner.
Bob was also a golden gloves boxer, and no stranger to defending his or his families honor outside the ring (Like the airport or the desert sands) Don’t mess with Texas!
During his lifetime, Bob wore many hats. From an oilfield worker in Texas to the Middle East, to a corner office in a New York high-rise to the car business after his retirement to Mississippi. Out of all these his favorite was the hat he wore as a father and husband.
Bob taught all who knew him something, and that was perseverance. Bob never gave up, and lived a life that few men have, from the sands of Odessa, to the sands of Dubai.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, and best friend, Jean Ann “Mo” Bishop Jackson. His Son R. F. “Bobby Jackson Jr., and daughter-in-law Terry. His daughter Julie, and granddaughters Kayla Noel Caldwell and Savanna Faye Elmore. Also, those friends whom he called his family, Nanette Workman, John H. Caldwell Jr., and Edward Ayers.
A celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at Parkway Funeral Home 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, MS, Tuesday, February 13th from 11:00 A.M to 12:00 P.M followed by a memorial service from 12:00 P.m. to 1:00 P.M.
