Rose Walley Marks

Survived by her children, Fred Marks (Jean) of Canton; Roseanne Elson (Steve) of Phoenix, AZ; Steve Marks (Terry) of Brandon; John Marks (Joni) of Jackson, TN; Sara Marks of Tampa, FL; Carol Brennan (Dave) of Simpsonville, SC; and Jodi Beninati (Jay) of New Orleans; nine grandchildren, six great children and predeceased by her husband of 42 years Simon Marks, son Thomas Marks and brothers David, Mike, Page, Fred and John Walley.

Born and raised in Jackson, to Dr. David and Rose Walley, Rose graduated from Central High School and married Simon Marks upon his graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY on June 6, 1944. After having 8 children, she completed her Associate Degree in Nursing from Hinds Junior College in 1970, fulfilling her dream of becoming an RN practicing at UMMC and the VA. Always enjoying life, Rose will be remembered for her loving ways and having the most positive attitude in any situation. Never meeting a stranger, she endeared herself to everyone.

All are welcome to attend Rose’s celebration of life Wednesday November 23 at 11:00 AM at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church 127 Church Road, Madison MS. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM.
