After graduating with honors from Winona High School, she attended MCW before transferring to Mississippi State College, where she met her future husband, Nelson Douglass. During her time at State, she was a member of Chi Omega, was named a Class Favorite, and was actively involved in numerous campus organizations. She graduated in 1956 with a degree in Education.
Rosemary and Nelson were married on June 3, 1956, and soon moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where they both worked at a classified nuclear facility. In 1959, they returned home to Jackson, Mississippi, where they raised their three children.
In 1971, Rosemary and two partners opened The Bridal Path in Jackson. She successfully owned and operated the business for 50 years, becoming a well-known and respected figure in the community.
She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, trips to the beach, traveling, and playing bridge-rarely missing a weekly game at the Jackson Bridge House. A devoted Mississippi State fan, Rosemary enjoyed all sports and remained an eternal optimist when it came to her Bulldogs.
Rosemary and Nelson shared 51 years of marriage. In 2015, she married Dr. Charles Guess. Together, they enjoyed traveling, good food, and spending time outdoors in their backyard.
She is survived by her three children, Libby (Gil), Luanne (Harold), and Doug (Chris); eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
