

Ruby L. Grantham, 88, of Madison, devoted and beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother went to her Eternal Home on October 6, 2011. She suffered from Alzheimer ’s disease in the last years of her earthly life. Private family graveside services will be held Saturday, October 8 at Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2011.
Mrs. Grantham was born in Columbus, Mississippi, and her childhood years included living in Natchez and Canton. She graduated from Central High School in Jackson and married her sweetheart, J. T. Grantham in 1941, just prior to his serving in North Africa and Europe in World War II. In later years after the war, Mrs. Grantham worked in the rearing of their three children and also worked alongside her husband in the investment securities business. In 1977, she and her husband retired and worked with Back to the Bible Ministries. Together, they traveled on behalf of that organization for over ten years sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. Mrs. Grantham also served as President of the Mississippi Chapter of the Gideons Auxiliary.
Mrs. Grantham was a faithful member of Riverwood Bible Church and always had a servant’s heart and a ready laugh and hug.
Mrs. Grantham was preceded in death by her husband, J. T. Grantham and by her daughter, Nancy G. Horz (Ray). Survivors include: her daughter Betsy Grantham, her son Tom Grantham (Teena); grandchildren Bethany G. Powers (Jason), David W. Grantham (Mary K.), Andrew Horz; great-children Alison M. Powers, James G. Grantham, Michael G. Powers and Wells P. Grantham; caregiver Gloria Stone.
