

Sarah Louise Wilkinson of Jackson, Mississippi, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2011. She was born Feb. 6, 1936, the eldest daughter of Richard and May Belle Stovall. She was an accomplished musician and an active member of First Baptist Church Jackson where she was a faithful member of the Sanctuary Choir, Reflections Choir, and Church Orchestra, where she played the flute.
During her lifetime, she attended Jackson Public Schools for all twelve years and graduated from Mississippi College with a BS degree in Education. She later received her Master’s degree from there, also. She taught first grade for almost forty years, first at Galloway Elementary and then at Woodland Hills Academy. She enjoyed travelling and made several trips to Europe, Egypt, and the Holy Land. She loved sewing and various other crafts which was evidenced in the beautiful ceramic dolls, delicate stitchery, and lovely clothes she created.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and May Belle Stovall, and her devoted husband, John Daniel Wilkinson. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth (Beth) Mclellan and Granddaughter Skylar Mclellan of Jackson, two sisters, Betty Thompson of Chapel Hill, NC and Martha Childs of Arcadia, FL., and a host of wonderful friends.
