Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday January 17, 2011 from the Parkway Chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home. Visitation will be between the hours of 5 and 7 PM Sunday and after 10:00 am Monday. Interment will follow the service in Jessamine Cemetery.
Mrs. Broadaway was born September 3, 1925 in Laurel, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband Roderick Gerard Broadaway, Sr. of Jackson, MS, a son Lt. Col. Jerry Wayne Edwards and her parents William Joshua Moore, Sr. and Nancy Matilda Boutwell Moore of Laurel, MS and son-in-law Tim Spence.
She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
Survivors include her son Roderick Gerard Broadaway, III (Mona) of Tupelo; daughters Martha Edwards Spence and Anna Kathryn Sanders (Spencer) of Brandon, MS; grandchildren include Jerry Edwards, Jr., John Edwards, Amy Edwards, Matt Spence, Andrea Sanders, Kristen Sanders, Harrison Broadaway, and Sarah Kate Broadaway.. Also seven Great-Grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to either the American Heart Association or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
