Yvonne "Tutsy" Crawford Lee Mays

Yvonne Lee Mays quietly passed away in her sleep in the early morning hours of December 29, 2022. She was 78 years old. Yvonne, or “Tutsy” to her oldest friends, was born on February 26, 1944 in Rayville Louisiana to parents Sidney and Irene Crawford.

Yvonne found her calling in property management and enjoyed a career with Southland Management Company that included management of Beechwood Park Apartments, and Parkwood South Apartments in Vicksburg Ms. She was a member of Flowood Baptist Church. She loved hosting the “Domino Ladies” every Thursday, and adored these special ladies who made time to come to her when she could no longer go to them. She loved sending the boys “mad money” while they were in college, because having fun is expensive. Yvonne loved us for trying to make her behave, although she had no intention of doing so at all. She passed the way she lived….totally in charge.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her Husband, William “Bill” Mays; her parents, Sidney and Irene Crawford; and step-son, Marty Mays.

She is survived by her children, Johnny Lee (Dottie), Kay Keen (Jimmy), Jimbo Lee (LeAnn), and Mark Mays (Laura); niece, Dana Puckett (Keith Evans); grandchildren, Jay Keen (Tabatha), Adam Lee (Natalee), Karl Keen (Emily), Meg Mays, Jason Lee, and Christopher Lee; and great grandchildren, Landen Johnson, Kamdyn and Jaxin Fulgham, and Avery and Emery Lee.

Yvonne's greatest wish was to be able to stay in her home until the end. This could have only been accomplished with the devotion of some very special people who she loved dearly. Dana Puckett, her niece, and partner in crime, stuck with her since the moment Aunt Tutsy needed her most. Angelia Bolden, Faith Martin, Chris Craft, and Rhonda Crawley, truly cared for her as a dear friend and for that her family is so very thankful.

Pallbearers will be Jay Keen, Adam Lee, Karl Keen, Jason Lee, Christopher Lee, Keith Evans and Jaxin Fulgham.

Visitation will be at Parkway Funeral Home and Memorial Cemetery, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS on Saturday December 31 at 10:00 with a graveside service following at 11:00. Memorials in Yvonne's honor may be made online at woundedwarriorproject.org.
