Bertha Edna Wade Wall

Bertha Edna Wade Wall, 87, of 1201 Askin Street, Martinsville, died Monday, September 17, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. She was born November 30, 1924 in Henry County to the late Charles Decator Wade and Emma Lee Richardson Wade.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Wall; seven sisters, Loraine Grant, Mildred Spencer, Velma LaPrade, May Joyce, Doris Wade, Daisy Wade and Ruby Wyatt, and four brothers, Paul Wade, Clyde Wade, Harvey Wade and Cliffton Wade.

She worked for Standard Garments for 34 years and at Tultex for several years.

Surviving are her daughter, Carol W. Turner of Martinsville; one son, Michael E. Wall of Hardie, VA; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11:00 AM, September 20, 2012, at the Fuller Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Fred W. Hardin Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the Children’s Hospital Foundation, 2924 Brook Road, Richmond, VA 23220.
