Emma Hughes Deetz

Emma Jean Hughes Deetz, 71, of 165 Turner Ashby Road, Martinsville, formerly of Roan Mountain, Tennessee, died Saturday, May 07, 2011 at her residence. She was born in North Carolina, on April 14, 1940 to the late Clyde Hughes and Viola Putman Hughes. She was of the Presbyterian faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Deetz, one son, Bobby Deetz, one sister, Betty Hughes Gouge, and one grandson, Josh Casey.

Surviving are two daughters, Patty Deetz Cox of Martinsville, Sherri Deetz Stone of Texas, two sons, Rick Deetz of High Point, NC., and Eric Deetz of Oklahoma, four sisters, Fran Hughes Taylor of Florida, Shelby Hughes Brumitt, Lola Hughes Gwyn and Joyce Hughes Thomas all of Tennessee, four brothers, Sidney, Alvin, Russell and Dallas Hughes all of Tennessee, five grandchildren, Kristin, Amanda, Shea, Tyler and Zack and eight great grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Abigail, Katherine, Jacob, Kayden, Colton and Sadie and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011 at Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway with Alvin Hughes Officiating. Family will receive friends only at the home.
