Gail Cox

Gail Marie Ray Cox, 55, of Martinsville, died Friday, August 9 2013 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Stuart. She was born in Roanoke on August 21 , 1957 to the late Everett Jackson Ray and Ann Sink Ray. She was the Manager of the A & N Store for more than five years before becoming disabled. Gail was of the Baptist Faith.Surviving are three half sisters, Helen M. Scott of Martinsville, Joyce Amos of the Snow Creek Community in Martinsville, and Brenda K. Harmon of Rockingham County, North Carolina, one brother, Thomas Harrison Ray and one half brother, John Paul Scott of Thomasville, North Carolina. A Memorial service will be held 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 15, 2013 in the chapel of Community Funeral Service with Lou Moore officiating, Interment will be private. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service and other times at the home of Joyce Amos, 106 Snow Creek Road, Martinsville, VA. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice 22099 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Stuart, Virginia 24171 or the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road, Roanoke, Virginia, 24018 The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Mountain Valley Hospice group and Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina, for their care, support and love shown to Gail and the entire family during Gail’s illness.
